A. Winder & Son are a family run business based in the Upper Eden Valley. Three generations of the family are involved in the running of the business;  Alec the founder of the company deals with the bin, hay and straw haulage with his grandson Paul and his son Colin works on the farm.

 

The company was established in 1966 running a livestock farm then soon after started dealing as hay and straw merchants. Initially, the company started to deal in second hand feed bins, which then led onto supplying new feed bins through Crowley. The bins were imported from Ireland as flat packs and built on the farm. As the demand increased they moved to a new supplier V-Mac Silos who provide the feed bins ready built, enabling us to process orders faster. A. Winder and Son are now the main UK agent.

Paul, Amie and their children attend shows throughout the country including The Royal Highland Show and The Great Yorkshire Show, as well as the Borderway UK Dairy Expo and Borderway Agri Expo. They also just recently        visited V-Mac Silos in Ireland where the girls got to see where the bins are manufactured.
